Oportun reports account payment histories to credit bureaus. Late or missed payments may have a negative impact on credit history or credit score. If you do not have a Social Security number, the credit bureaus may not be able to report your credit history completely and accurately.  Loans made to Illinois residents without an official U.S. issued identification may require a foreign issued passport or consular identification.

Loan amounts of less than $2,500 to California borrowers are made exclusively under California Financial Code §§ 22365 – 22381 (the "Pilot Program"). The Pilot Program restricts the amount of the borrower’s monthly debt compared to monthly income and limits the number of times the loan may be refinanced, among other things. Borrowers who meet our credit requirements but who do not meet Pilot Program restrictions may be offered loan amounts of $2,500 or more only.
